At MUGSHOTS, we use the printing technique known as sublimation printing for our personalised mugs, making our mugs a perfect lasting gift.
Dye-sublimation printing technology uses full colour artwork and works with polymer-coated products.
It is commonly used for decorating novelty items such as personalised mugs. The process we use is a heat and pressure process that is applied to all our mugs.
We use high quality specialised sublimation transfer paper and our ink is deposited onto the high quality transfer paper which is then used for the next step of the sublimation printing process to create our personalised mugs
Once the design is printed on the high quality transfer paper, we place the transfer paper onto the mug and it is then placed into a heat press ready for production. In order for the sublimation process to take affect and produce a beautifully designed mug, it requires the following:
The heat press applies this special combination, and temperatures can reach as high as 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The correct activation process of time, temperature and pressure will result in the most effective colour quality that will be displayed on your mug.
Our team makes sure that all our designs on our mugs are 100% perfect and we make sure that we don’t compromise on quality so that we can deliver the perfect mug to you.
Because the sublimation process does not require any set up fee’s it enables our customers to get the best price possible and making sure we deliver 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
The end result of the sublimation process is a nearly permanent, high resolution, full colour printed personalised mug.
Because our dye-sublimation inks are infused onto our mugs rather than applied at a topical level (such as with screen printing), the prints will not crack, fade or peel on our personalised mugs under normal conditions. We have been creating personalised mugs since 1999 and we are based in the mother city, Cape Town.
